Velvet Revolver 'set to bring in new singer'
Velvet Revolver have chosen a new singer but are not yet ready to reveal his identity.
This is according to Matt Sorum, the man behind the drum kit in the group, who told The Pulse of Radio the arrival of the new man could be "a real turning point for the band".
Velvet Revolver are also made up of electric guitar legend Slash and bass guitarist Duff McKagan, but have been without a frontman for two years after the departure of Scott Weiland.
While Sorum dropped some clues about who is set to take the role, explaining he is a "known guy", the drummer said it is not yet time for an official announcement on the matter.
"We haven't consummated the relationship, we haven't sat down this gentleman and made the agreement together," he stated.
Earlier this month, Slash revealed to his followers on social networking site Twitter that Velvet Revolver were in the process of auditioning a number of singers to join the group.
The electric guitar player is due to feature on BBC 6 Music on Boxing Day, presenting a show about his musical heroes from down the years.
