Violin player set for very important performance
A violin player will be playing a very special performance this weekend at the Macculloch Hall Historical Museum in Morristown.
Adriane Post is the great-granddaughter of Dorothea Miller Post, herself a violin player who once lived in the 18th century hall, reported Morristown Patch.
What makes the event even more special is that Adriane will be performing on the same violin that her great-grandmother played on.
Speaking to the online news provider, Adriane said that it was an amazing feeling to know that this hall was where her family had lived for five generations.
She said: "I imagine they had a very good time, and it's nice to be able to visualise it and have a connection to it."
"I know they used to play at the bottom of the spiral staircase in the entry hall, where the kids – my grandfather and his brothers – could spy on the party from upstairs when they were supposed to be in bed."
Adriane will be performing alongside Arceci-McKean.
George Macculloch built the federal-style brick mansion on a 26-acre gentleman’s farm in 1810.
