Vox unveils new guitar effects pedal
The manufacturer will roll out its V845 Wah-Wah pedal in November 2009, which it has modelled on a device it developed during the 1960s.
However, the new version has been described as a sturdier alternative to its predecessor that comes with a very affordable price tag.
Vox also noted that the V845 offers the same "legendary" wah-wah tone that the original pedal used to offer.
"During the 60s, Vox's original wah-wah pedal quickly gained widespread popularity," it commented.
"Its unique sonic characteristics have encouraged further experimentation by guitarists ever since."
Vox added that this type of guitar effect has made prominent appearances on some of the most famous recordings in music history.
Indeed, Jimi Hendrix regularly used wah-wah sounds on records such as Voodoo Child (Slight Return), while the sound has also been favoured by musicians including Eric Clapton and Jimmy Page.Posted on 14 Sep 2009 17:08 to category : Instruments News
