The drummer out of the long-running US folk band America has donated his [drums](http://www.gear4music.com/drum-kits.html) to the Greater Shenandoah Historical Museum. Willie Leacox, who actually hails from Shenandoah, has been banging on the drums for 38 years, lending a very helpful hand to the musical compositions of hits like Ventura Highway, Sister Golden Hair, Tin Man and Horse With No Name. This particular [drum set](http://www.gear4music.com/Drums/Drum_Kits.html) has been used by Leacox for the best part of a decade, reported South West Iowa News. "That is a drum set I used on the road for ten years, worldwide. It is the first set I got from Ludwig, which endorses me," he said. Members of the public will now be able to view the instrument up close and personal, though they will have to wait till after Christmas to view it in its entirety – it's still missing its spurs on the [bass](http://www.gear4music.com/Bass_Guitars/G4M_Bass_Guitars.html) drum. Speaking to the online news provider, Leacox remembered the first time he auditioned to be in the band, a day that changed his life forever. "They hired me right away," he said. "I knew the bass player so they let me go in first. They hired me and sent three other drummers home." Buy A Drum Kit Now  ADNFCR-2133-ID-800728267-ADNFCR
