Wonderwall to make Olympics appearance
Now, with the Olympics beginning next week, it's also set to play a part in London 2012.
One-time Oasis man Liam Gallagher – and his band Beady Eye - are set to play the song at the occasion's closing ceremony, reports the Sun.
Beady Eye are behind tracks such as Three Ring Circus, Four Letter Word, The Morning Sun and The Roller – all of which appear on their album Different Gear, Still Speeding.
As well as Wonderwall, electric guitar band Oasis were responsible for such songs as Cigarettes and Alcohol, The Importance of Being Idol and All Around The World.
Their albums included (What's The Story) Morning Glory, Standing On The shoulder of Giants and Definitely Maybe.
Wonderwall was covered in 1995 by The Mike Flowers Pops, in a version that also reached number two in the charts.
The Olympics themselves will begin this coming Friday – July 27th.
