br /> Professional sound engineer and technical sales specialist for Yamaha Nick Pemberton warned against overcomplicating the rig and recommended that sound effects are used "sparingly" in the latest Yamaha Download podcast.

He pointed out the importance of putting microphones in the right places and advised that speakers should always be positioned in front of the mics.

In addition to this, he stressed it is vital that the sound engineer does not mix too loudly.

Mr Pemberton is one of four guests on the March podcast, which focuses specifically on PA systems.

According to Yamaha, he is at the forefront of the "digital sound revolution", with his achievements including the design and construction of the sound system used on the John Peel stage at least year's Glastonbury Festival, something he appears to be particularly proud of.

"It has already proved itself and we want to show it off, to demonstrate the future of amplified sound in the most challenging environment," he said at the time.
