Young musician gets epic cello
Lauren Shireff has been loaned the beautiful and sublime musical instrument by Tweed Music Centre, the Berwick Advertiser reported.
The cello itself is on a permanent loan to the music centre from Jeremy Brown.
He had responded to an advertisement that had asked for people in the region to kindly donate their musical instruments, especially if they were just sitting idle in people's houses.
Her dad, Graham told the news provider: "This is a dream come true for Lauren. She loves playing and deserves to have the opportunity to play such a beautiful instrument.
"We can't thank Jeremy and his family enough. Knowing the history of the cello makes it even more exciting."
The 11-year-old is currently studying for her Grade 3, which will no doubt be boosted by the classic cello.
In related news, Maya Beiser, a innovative cellist spoke out about the need for classical music artists to get more creative.
