Youngster teaches himself complex piano piece
Timothy Hawn, 12, spent eight months getting to grips with the third movement of Beethoven's Moonlight Sonata, spending hours at the piano and devouring a range of books on the composer, Times Free Press reported.
The youngster has achieved quite a feat – the piece is usually mastered at a later age, when musicians have dedicated years of their lives to the piano.
"I like how he puts all his emotion in the music," said Timothy of Beethoven.
"I was so happy I could play [the piece]," he said. "It's just so emotional ... so drastic. It's really amazing."
The talented young musician, who has the unique ability to be able to memorise pieces by ear, has been playing piano from the age of four.
Given his natural talent, everyone is keeping an eye out on him as he has a very bright future ahead of him.
Moonlight Sonata is generally viewed by most of the classical community as one of the finest piano pieces ever produced.
