sE Electronics Help Frank Hamilton Record London Eye EP
The singer-songwriter approached sE Electronics with the ambitious proposal to record in one of the eye's glass capsules.
Recorded with a 3-piece band in less than 30 minutes, including setting up and taking down the equipment, the recording location posed a number of issues for Frank and the crew.
Frank said, "Recording in a glass bowl was always going to be a logistical nightmare but it was made infinitely easier by the support and expertise of sE Electronics and their microphones."
Due to no power supply being available in the pod, 450 feet above the River Thames, the RNR1 ribbon mic and three sE4 small capsule condensers relied on the laptop's battery for power. The two Voodoo VR1 passive ribbon mics captured the viola, cello and backing vocals with warmth and full frequency response.
The first of its kind, the 4-track #LondonEyeEP is now available, watch the video below.
