will.i.am parties for inspiration
will.i.am is always partying because it gives him ideas for new songs.
The Black Eyed Peas frontman is frequently spotted DJing and hanging out on the Los Angeles club scene, but says he sees it as part of his job, as he is always keeping himself aware of what new sounds his audience will respond to.
He said: "I go out partying to figure out exactly who I'm making music for. You can't just guess. Is it true I hardly sleep? Well, I could sleep five times throughout the day in hour increments and get five hours.
"But I'm healthy, I eat right, feel right. If I'm DJing until three, I party until five, sleep around six, wake up at nine. And that's when I start thinking. Real thinking."
will.i.am has also previously told how he credits his musical partner and Black Eyed Peas bandmate apl.de.ap and his family with distracting his overactive imagination and saving him from a life of crime.
He explained: "I would have been a notorious gang member. First I'd have to rebel against my mum and then rebel against the law.
