Key Features
Product Ref: 21225
The Ibanez EP5 features a slimline design to offer a comfortable playing experience where the guitar can sit closer to your body. This is ideal for the electric guitarist who needs an acoustic instrument with more familiar and slim dimensions, or for the acoustic player who simply wants a thinner guitar that is easier to reach around and play. The body is made from a solid engelmann spruce top which is a bright and responsive tonewood, assisted by the x-bracing construction to improve resonance and sustain. The mahogany back and sides aid with projection, while the mahogany neck with rosewood fingerboard adds warmth and sustain.
The EP5 features Fishman®'s Sonicore Pickup to provide a solid and well-rounded amplified tone. This is channelled through Ibanez's AEQ210TF preamp which is specifically voiced to work well in slimmer guitars, offering user-friendly control of EQ, a handy in-built tuner, and a phase switch to reduce on-stage feedback.
Ibanez's special design of bridge pin enables a much easier string change than on traditional acoustic guitars and more secure attachment.
Over the past 30 years, Ibanez Guitars have always been at the forefront of developing the right tools for electric guitar players pushing the boundaries of music. For decades, Ibanez designers and luthiers have been the embodiment of this ideology, pushing their skills to the edge of imagination, consistently creating some of the most versatile and unique instruments ever. Although Ibanez guitars have been made since 1908, it wasn't until the late 1980s that they began to form an identity for themselves when artists such as Steve Vai and Frank Zappa began using their instruments. Now with a huge artist clientele across the globe, Ibanez are a leading manufacturer of electric guitars and basses and a first choice for many dedicated musicians.
