As guitarist for popular band Black Veil Brides since 2010, Jake Pitts has been providing his lead guitar playing abilities and brought technical guitar solos to nearly every track that the band plays. He has released several signature guitars with Schecter and the C-1 FR takes his own specifications to give you a stage-ready instrument with a stand-out aesthetic and effortless playability. With active EMG pickups, Floyd Rose Tremolo and fast neck specification, this is an instrument designed for rock and metal performance with no barriers to your technique.
The EMG 81 bridge and 85 neck pickups are one of the most popular combinations of active pickups for a blend of power and an ability to cut through any mix. Both pickups are battery powered for a noise-free operation and range of power not available to passive designs.
The 81 bridge pickup is designed for powerful articulation and sustain. With powerful ceramic magnets and close aperture coils, the tone was designed with detailed intensity, incredible amounts of high end cut, and fluid sustain. The 85 neck pickup enables liquid smooth lead tones with great sustain.
As a pair, the EMG 81/85 combo allow for a great variety of tones and perform particularly well when used to drive a heavily overdriven amp/pedal setup. They provide great clarity and articulation and are ideal for metal and rock performance.
The Jake Pitts C-1 has a modern neck specification geared towards fast playing. It has a thin 'C' profile that sits comfortably in the hand and a set-neck joint with a low-profile joint. The set-neck "Ultra Access" design and double cutaway body allows you to easily access the whole length of the fingerboard with ease - you'll barely notice the neck joint is there.
The neck is mounted with 24 extra-jumbo frets to provide excellent control of the strings when playing string bends and vibrato. The frets are fixed with a modern 14'' radius, giving you the perfect balance for fast playability.
The Jake Pitts C-1 is crafted from mahogany for a warm tonal response with great sustain. It has an ebony fingerboard which assists with low-end articulation and provides a smooth playing surface for the left hand.
The Jake Pitts C-1 has a Floyd Rose bridge with locking nut for access to extreme whammy bar tricks including dive-bombs, gargles, pinch harmonic pitch shifts, and much more. The double locking design ensures tuning stability and an accurate return to pitch, even after the most active tremolo arm use. This hardware is chosen to cope well with low-tunings and aggressive performances, whilst expanding the capability of the guitar.
