Drummers break world record
More than 500 musicians got behind their drum kits yesterday to write their names into the record books.
The world record attempt was staged at the Birmingham National Indoor Arena during this year's Drumfest to raise funds for the Multiple Sclerosis Society.
Don Powell of Slade, who was among those taking part, described the event as "amazing".
"I'm so happy we smashed the record and we've set a very high target for them to beat," he told the Daily Mail.
The veteran rocker, who hit the sticks on classics such as Coz I Love You, Cum On Feel The Noize and Look Wot You Dun, added that getting everyone to play at the same tempo was relatively easy.
However, he revealed that getting 582 people to stop playing their drum kits proved to be more of a problem.Posted on 14 Jul 2009 14:00 to category : Instruments News
