Fender unveils four new acoustic guitars
All of the guitars have scalloped X bracing, but have different tonal qualities due to their shape and the woods used to make them.
The Kingman 10, which has rosewood back and sides and a solid cedar top, produces a "punchy and smooth" sound, while the CD280SCE - which is made from the same woods but is shaped differently and has a different preamp set up - offers a "bright, classic tone".
With maple back and sides and a solid spruce top, the CD290SCE boasts a "big" sound and tone, while the small-bodied CD360SCE offers "maximum tone and output".
The instruments were unveiled as Fender announced it is to run a special workshop on building custom guitars at the Grammy Museum at the end of this month.Posted on 25 Mar 2009 11:02 to category : Instruments News
