Garbage reveal details of new album
Producer and drummer Butch Vig explained that the development of the record has moved much quicker than previously expected meaning that they will be able to have new material available in the next year.
The band have not released an album since 2012's Not Your Kind of People which represented a follow-up to 2005's Bleed Like Me but Vig promised that there would not be such a long gap between the next record being released.
Speaking to Billboard, the legendary producer, responsible for Nirvana's Nevermind and Green Day's 21st Century Breakdown, said: "We're all excited about that. We don't really have any songs started yet, but we all have ideas for songs. I have little riffs and things floating around in my head. If we could get started some time in the summer and finish close to the end of the year."
Garbage broke into the mainstream with their debut self-titled record in 1995 which contained the classic track, Stupid Girl, featuring The Clash's Joe Strummer and Mick Jones.
