Libertines to record again?
Carl Barat says The Libertines may record new songs.
Following the group's reunion shows at the Reading and Leeds festival at the end of August, co-frontman Carl hopes they can continue in some form, although he has ruled out a full tour.
The 'Time For Heroes' singer said: "We will never be a band touring the world. But we might do more music. That's a possibility."
The Libertines - which also features co-frontman Pete Doherty, drummer Gary Powell and bassist John Hassall - originally imploded in 2004 shortly after Pete had been kicked out of the group as a result of his drug use.
A cult following has grown around the band since, culminating in this year's comeback shows, which Carl said had an incredible reception.
He added: "A lot of these people had not seen the Libertines before. They wondered what the fuss was about. There was so much love and excitement. Everyone connected as if no time had passed at all."
The 32-year-old singer and guitarist added that if the Libertines do reunite again, however, it will have to be after the release of his solo album in October, and him having time off with his son, expected with girlfriend Edie Langley in December.
He added: "I'm concentrating on my album, my tour and my baby. I am very happy, nervous and excited."Posted on 7 Sep 2010 16:30 to category : Music News
