Music stars commend internet
Fender Telecaster player Francis Rossi has come out as a supporter of video sharing sites such as YouTube.
According to the Status Quo frontman, the internet has helped people to find music on their own and listen to it with an open mind.
"They can watch videos of us or hear the music and not have it judged for them," Rossi told the Flintshire Chronicle.
The electric guitar player said this has helped older bands such as Quo, The Rolling Stones and The Who to attract younger audiences.
Soul singer Beverley Knight has also spoken positively of how the web has impacted on the music industry.
Speaking to Sky News, she said the internet has helped artists understand the market much better.
"It informs your choices in everything you do now," she commented.
Knight added that the way people receive and listen to music has "changed beyond all recognition" over the last ten years.Posted on 3 Nov 2009 17:00 to category : Band / Celebrity News
