Musikmesse 2010: Korg debut Monotron analog synthesizer
Great deals on musical instruments

Premier synth manufacturer Korg releases new analog synthesizer, the Monotron, at Musikmesse 2010.

Korg has a strong heritage of producing synths, with well regarded analogs starting to appear from the 1970s with the MS series setting the mark for electronic musicians.

The Monotron is based on this tradition, featuring the same filter as the MS-20 along with true analog synthesis.

Although the Monotron is diminutive in size, powered by just two AAA batteries, it is capable of generating thick and powerful sounds with ease.

The front control panel contains just 5 knobs and 1 switch, having been streamlined to make it as easy as possible to get huge sound.

This streamlining has been successfully implemented many times before on Korg synths, such as the MicroKorg range.

Borrowing the enjoyment of performing with a simple touch from Korg's wildly popular KAOSS products, the monotron's ribbon controller keyboard takes this ease of use even farther.

Used in a band, you can expand your possibilities by harmonizing with another instrument ? or taking center stage for a monotron solo.

The Monotron has simplicity in its very heart, one voltage-controlled oscillator, one voltage-controlled filter, and one low frequency oscillator.

Since each knob directly applies a specific change to the sound, the process of sound creation is intuitive, and instantly understandable.

The monotron provides the joy of sonic creativity that's at the heart of analog synthesis, making it an ideal choice for someone who is new to synthesizers, or for musicians who wants to expand their sonic palette.

Just as on the original MS-20, the monotron's filter can be "patched into," allowing any external audio source to be processed by the monotron's filter.

With both an internal speaker and a headphone jack the Montron is an analog synthesizer that can be enjoyed any time any place.
