NAMM 2011: sE Electronics Introduce New Egg Studio Monitors
Renowned microphone manufacturer sE Electronics have presented their new range of Egg Studio Monitors at NAMM 2011.
Following the announcement of a new partnership between leading acoustician Andy Munro, sE Electronics aim to produce a series of active studio monitors to supplement the sE mic range.
With an unmistakably egg-shaped cabinet, the Egg monitors have been designed in such a way as to eliminate the negative effects cabinets have on speakers.
"By removing step changes in radiation impedance and virtually all internal vibration modes, the Egg has no spectral distortion other than the drivers themselves," says Munro.
The crossovers are fully active and have been digitally-modeled and matched to give near perfect phase and transient response. The result is a fast acting speaker that further enhances the impression of absolute accuracy.
Alongside the low distortion level, true bi-amplification is set to match the sonic purity offered by the cabinet design.
"Electronically the Egg is equally impressive with true bi-amplification with linear power supply and full protection against overload and short circuits."
"This means the sound can be unforgiving. Bad mixes will sound embarrassing and that won't please everyone but those who want the truth will find it here," Munro continued.Posted on 13 Jan 2011 14:48 to category : Instruments News
