Rebecca Black pulled out of high school because of bullies
YouTube sensation Rebecca Black has been pulled out of high school by her parents after the teenager began to be bullied by other school kids.
She will now be home-schooled.
This will also give her more time to work on building up her fledgling music career, which many have compared to the meteoric rise of Justin Bieber.
Speaking to ABC News, the 14-year-old, whose song Friday caught the imagination of people all around the world, said that she was being increasingly taunted over the popularity of her hit song.
She said: "When I walk by they'll start singing Friday in a really nasally voice. Or, you know, they'll be like, 'Oh hey, Rebecca, guess what day it is?'"
The bullying and harassment has also sprung up online with the teenager being the victim of "bogus" news stories that have, for example, claimed that she was pregnant.
She said: "Waking up to a rumour that you're pregnant is not fun. It's just frustrating, because I mean, I'm still, like, excited over my first kiss."
The singer has just released the video to her new single My Moment on her own independent label RB Records.
