About Workstations
A Workstation, or ‘Arranger’ keyboard, goes one step further than the synthesizer or digital piano. It is essentially a compact, self-contained studio, built around a keyboard. Most offer direct integration into the most popular DAW software and feature USB interfacing and MIDI interfacing as standard. The Roland Fantom and Yamaha Tyros are examples of renowned workstations. As well as being powerful studio tools, workstations can be equally as powerful for performance. Some will feature weighted keys, such as the Korg M3 88-Key, which mimics the feel of an acoustic piano.
