A great inexpensive set of good quality rototoms - as a complement to any drum kit or to be used on their own.
Rototoms have a variable definite pitch - they can be tuned quickly by rotating the head. Since the head rotates on a thread, this raises or lowers the head relative to the rim of the drum and so increases or decreases the tension in the head.
Two drumming greats who used Rototoms in the early days were Bill Bruford and Terry Bozzio. Nick Mason of Pink Floyd also used rototoms to record the distinct intoduction to "Time" on the 1973 album "The Dark Side of the Moon"
