The Hologram Electronics Microcosm is an innovative granular effects pedal and looper designed for creating everything from rhythmic glitches and micro-loops to huge ambient textures and evolving soundscapes. Built in Knoxville, Tennessee, the Microcosm combines advanced digital processing with an intuitive hands-on interface suitable for guitars, synthesisers and other instruments.

At the centre of the Microcosm are 11 unique granular and looping effects with 44 preset variations. Incoming audio can be sampled, rearranged, pitch-shifted and transformed into rhythmic patterns or atmospheric textures, providing an extensive palette for experimental sound design.

A built-in 60-second phrase looper provides further creative possibilities, while the Hold function can freeze effects and patterns to produce sustained textures. Integrated stereo reverb offers four different styles, alongside adjustable pitch modulation and a resonant low-pass filter for additional sound shaping.

Comprehensive connectivity makes the Microcosm equally capable in pedalboard and studio environments. Stereo inputs and outputs accommodate stereo signal chains, while MIDI In, Out and Thru connections provide external control and clock synchronisation. An expression input can also be assigned to numerous parameters for real-time control during performance.
