An Excellent first Ukuele

the Makala Dolphin series delivers a beautiful sounding ukulele with a design perfect for new players wanting to dive into the world of the ukulele. The Kala Makala features a soprano size, producing a great amount of the warmth that ukuleles have become renowned for. Its solid agathis body is coupled with a rosewood fingerboard to provide excellent reliability and long lasting performance. Its mahogany neck offers a smooth feel, allowing quick and easy position changes. The Kala Ukulele is finished in a vibrant orange colour, and features stylish opened gear tuners, an intricate dolphin shaped rosewood bridge, an a white plastic nut and saddle.

Aquila Strings

As well as looks and tonewoods, the Kala Makala features a set of Aquila strings, which are made in Italy and manufactured from a special Nylgut material. Nylgut is a synthetic material that combines characteristics of both nylon and gut strings, producing a string that is easy to play and produces a warm tone.

A Brief History About Kala

Kala was launched in 2005 in Sonoma Country, north of San Francisco. They have been the popular choice for Ukuleles over the past decade due to their diverse range of unique Ukuleles for all types of requirements. Kala Ukulele’s are designed with the original Hawaiian ukes in mind, offering new takes on the classic design to accommodate new and old players.
