The Stock 59 faithfully recreates the look and feel of the original DC59, from its classic double cutaway Shorthorn silhouette to its distinctive Coke bottle headstock. The semi-hollow construction with centre block provides a naturally resonant response that captures the spirit of early Danelectro instruments. That lively acoustic character gives chords a woody bloom and helps single notes jump out with clarity, even before you plug in. Visually and sonically, it channels the charm of the late '50s while remaining robust and dependable enough for today's players.
At the heart of this reissue are two traditional Lipstick pickups, renowned for their clear, chiming voice and tight low end. They produce the sought-after twanging tone associated with the golden age of rock ’n’ roll, while still handling modern styles with ease. Clean settings deliver bright articulation and string-to-string definition, perfect for open chords and rhythmic patterns. Push them into overdrive and they retain clarity without losing that signature snap. The three-way pickup switch lets you move between neck warmth, bridge bite or a balanced middle position, all shaped through straightforward master volume and tone controls.
A key feature of the Stock 59 is its wooden Swivel bridge with single Pau Ferro saddle. This vintage-correct design not only contributes to the guitar’s distinctive tonal character but also allows for practical intonation adjustments. The bridge adds a subtle warmth and natural compression that complements the Lipstick pickups beautifully. Despite its retro construction, it remains functional and stable, helping maintain tuning accuracy across the 25" scale length while preserving the authentic feel and response that players expect from a period-accurate DC59 reissue.
The bolt-on maple neck features a comfortable C profile and a 14" fretboard radius, offering a smooth, familiar feel under the hand. It strikes a balance between vintage inspiration and modern playability, making extended sessions feel relaxed and controlled. With 21 frets and a double-acting truss rod for precise setup adjustments, it provides reliable performance in changing environments. The lacquered finish and classic detailing complete a guitar that looks, feels and sounds like a genuine throwback, ready to deliver dependable tone and style on contemporary stages and recordings alike.
