With a height of less than 15'' and a weight of only 11.5kg, the Marcus CMD 101 is one of the most compact and lightweight combo amps around. But don’t let that fool you into thinking the Markbass amp is only suitable for the practice room. Its 60 watts of power and excellent sound quality delivers quite the punch, enough to suit small gigs and even the studio.
The single 10'' custom Markbass speaker is accompanied by a piezo tweeter, delivering an incredibly dynamic performance with plenty of projection. While the lows remain strong and punchy, the highs offer a crisp, almost sharp-like quality to give your bass a beautifully expressive sound.
Coupled with the CMD 101 Micro 60's stunning power is a control panel, letting you shape your sound to suit your personal preference. With its 3-band EQ, you can finetune your tone to accommodate different playing styles, musical genres, or environments. The gain and master controls provide you with the tools to boost the amount of punch, kick, and texture the combo amp produces. No matter what, you'll always sound your best.
Not only can you use the Markbass CMD 101 as a powerful practice amp, you can also take it to the studio or stage. With its balanced XLR line out, you can easily connect the amp to your PA system or mixer to deliver a powerful performance on the small stage. You can even use the 60-watt combo as your own personal monitor. If that wasn't enough, you also have a speaker output. This lets you expand your sound with an additional 8-ohm speaker cabinet, making your already loud performance louder.
For practicing, the Markbass Marcus Amp is also equipped with a headphone output, letting you practice anywhere in silence. The additional aux input is perfect for playing along to your favourite backing tracks and songs - or simply use it as your own personal music speaker.
Marcus was originally a session player and worked on countless projects - over 500 recordings in fact - playing with artists as diverse as Luther Vandross, Grover Washington Jr. Roberta Flack, Bryan Ferry, Billy Idol, and more. Marcus went on to win the "Most Valuable Player" award from NARAS to recognize his achievements as a studio musician. Marcus has led a diverse career, including writing music for Miles Davis, hosting a jazz history show, writing numerous film scores. He has won Grammy Awards as a producer and won the Best Contemporary Jazz Album award for his 7th solo instrumental album, M2.
