Key Features
The Mesa Boogie JP-2C Head is a modern recreation of the legendary Mark IIC+ developed in collaboration with John Petrucci. Built in the EU format for professional touring rigs, it focuses on delivering uncompromising clean headroom, crushing rhythm gain and fluid lead tones without unnecessary complexity. Channel one is dedicated to pristine clean sounds with huge headroom, channel two delivers tight, aggressive crunch, and channel three pushes into saturated lead territory with explosive attack and sustain.
Two independent five band graphic equalisers allow precise shaping for both high gain channels, while Shred mode adds extra harmonic bite for modern heavy styles. A selectable 60 or 100 watt power section gives flexibility for studios and stages, and the built in CabClone DI makes silent recording and direct live use easy. With MIDI control, channel switching, reverb, effects loop and rock solid construction, the JP-2C is a serious tool for players who want classic Mark tone with modern control. This head rewards precise technique and fast playing.

The JP-2C is built around the sound and response of the original Mark IIC+, refined through decades of collaboration with John Petrucci. Each channel is dedicated to a specific role rather than multiple voicing modes, making it simple to use and consistent on stage. Clean tones stay bold and clear at high volumes, crunch sounds remain tight and percussive, and lead tones deliver the sustain and harmonic complexity the circuit is famous for. It captures the spirit of the original while improving usability.
Two separate five band graphic equalisers allow you to shape rhythm and lead sounds independently, something that required multiple amps in the original era. Each EQ can be assigned per channel, bypassed or footswitched, giving total control over midrange punch, low end tightness and top end cut. This setup makes it easy to move from aggressive rhythm tones to soaring leads and keeps your sounds consistent across different rooms and stages.
A global 60 or 100 watt power switch changes both feel and response, letting you tailor headroom and saturation to the situation. Lower power brings earlier power section character, while full output delivers maximum authority and punch. The built in CabClone DI provides cabinet simulation for direct recording or live use, complete with speaker mute and headphone output. This makes the JP-2C equally at home in the studios, at rehearsal, or onstage.
Full MIDI implementation allows channels, EQs, Shred mode, reverb and effects loop to be stored and recalled instantly. Up to 256 presets can be accessed from a controller or computer, making the JP-2C ideal for complex live setups. Combined with its rugged construction and road proven design, it integrates seamlessly into modern touring rigs while retaining the unmistakable feel and response that made the Mark series legendary.
