Mahogany Body with Maple Top

The PRS SE Mark Holcomb Ltd Ed 2018 is crafted with a mahogany body which delivers a warm, rich tone with plenty of depth and complexity. Mahogany also offers durability and a tone which will mature over the years, making this guitar a long lasting investment. The mahogany is topped with maple, and a quilt maple veneer which extends the mahogany's tonal range, making it the ultimate pairing. This Limited Edition model also features a stunning hand rubbed satin finish with a Whale Blue covering. Its flame maple veneer and Whale Blue finish offer an ocean-like appearance, complemented by black hardware and pearloid bird inlays. Truly stunning and an idyllic addition to your live setup.

Thin Maple Neck & Ebony Fingerboard

The SE Mark Holcomb Ltd's neck is made from maple, which provides a bright sound with tight, sizzling highs. Additionally, the neck has a wide-thin profile which offers a comfortable playing experience throughout each position up and down the neck. An ebony fingerboard also adds sustain and a snappy attack. Another classic feature of this PRS Ltd Ed model are the pearloid bird inlays, offering an eye-catching look that is certain to look great both on-stage and in the rehearsal room.

The Custom 24 Base

The PRS SE Mark Holcomb 2018 takes the Custom 24 model as its basis and supercharges it with Seymour Duncan pickups and fast playing specifications. The mahogany body and maple top remain familiar to the Custom 24 line, with the same bevelled contours and easy high-fret access courtesy of a low-profile neck joint and bevelled lower-horn. This versatile guitar platform features 24 frets and 3-way pickup switching with coil-tapping capabilities.

Mark Holcomb Seymour Duncan Pickups

The Seymour Duncan "Alpha" and "Omega" pickups were created to meet the requirements of Periphery's technically complex music with precise tones. Their music requires pickups with just the right amount of output and articulation whether standing alone or working in a dense mix. The Omega bridge pickup features destructive percussion and growl in the mids and low end. It's aggressive but it also has lots of clarity and brightness. The Alpha neck pickup is unlike most traditional neck models. It was voiced to combine the best qualities of a neck and a bridge pickup, with some of that fat glassy sound but also plenty of your pick attack and fretting-hand phrasing. These pickups ensure absolute clarity of tone and are ideal for low-tuned technical metal music.

About Mark Holcomb

Mark Holcomb joined American progressive metal band Periphery in 2011, as their full time guitarist. Holcomb has released four studio albums with the band, as well as an EP; and the band were also nominated for Best Metal Performance at the Grammy Awards in 2017. The band and Holcomb himself are known and respected for their complex rhythms and fierce, aggressive sound which can be achieved with his Signature PRS guitars.
