PRS SE Special Semi-Hollow, Lake Burst

Full Description

Versatile semi-hollow construction

The PRS SE Special Semi-Hollow stands out with its unique semi-hollow body design, crafted from mahogany and topped with a figured maple veneer. This construction blends the resonance and warmth of a hollow body with the feedback resistance and punch of a solid body, offering a beautifully balanced tone with enhanced sustain and projection. The single f-hole carved into the top not only contributes to the instrument’s airy tonal quality but also brings a classic visual charm that complements the Lake Burst finish. This combination makes the SE Special Semi-Hollow ideal for expressive, articulate playing across a wide range playing styles.

Expanded tonal flexibility

One of the most defining features of the PRS SE Special Semi-Hollow is its highly versatile triple pickup configuration. With a pair of 58/15 “S” humbuckers in the neck and bridge positions, and a Narrowfield DD “S” pickup in the middle, this guitar is equipped to handle everything from classic warmth to modern clarity. The 5-way blade selector switch works in tandem with two mini-toggle coil-split switches to deliver twelve different pickup combinations. This layout lets you switch seamlessly between full humbucker tones and crisp single-coil sounds, giving you the flexibility to explore clean jazz chords, gritty blues licks, or high-gain rock leads in one PRS powerhouse.

Smooth, comfortable playability

Designed with playability at its core, the PRS SE Special Semi-Hollow features a 25” scale maple neck with a Wide Thin profile that feels fast and effortless under the fingers. From intricate lead lines to chord-heavy rhythm parts, the neck’s slim shape supports fluid movement across the fretboard. The rosewood fingerboard, adorned with PRS’s signature bird inlays, adds a familiar and comfortable touch for experienced hands. A sleek satin neck finish and medium frets further enhance the playing experience, promoting fatigue-free performance during long practice sessions, studio takes, or live sets.

Reliable hardware and performance

Every detail of the SE Special Semi-Hollow has been carefully considered to deliver dependable, gig-ready performance. PRS-designed tuners provide accurate, stable tuning while keeping the instrument well balanced. The PRS patented tremolo bridge is engineered for both subtle vibrato and expressive pitch shifts, all while maintaining excellent tuning stability. This combination of precision hardware ensures that the guitar performs flawlessly in any environment—on stage, in the studio, or at home. From coil-splitting electronics to its roadworthy design, the SE Special Semi-Hollow is built to deliver expressive tone and long-term reliability.
