Key Features
Meticulous care has been taken to make sure the SP-170DX digital piano is equipped with professional quality sounds. The SP-170 has ten premium sounds for you to enjoy, including two skilfully grand piano sounds. Other sounds include electric piano, harpsichord, and organ.
Natural Weighted Hammer Action Keys
Korg have developed their Natural Weighted Hammer Action Keyboard to give you the same playing experience you would get from a traditional acoustic piano. The heavier touch on the lower end of the 88-note keyboard and the lighter playing feel of the higher end of the scale give that authentic feel. Key touch control allows you to play expressively, capturing all the subtleties of differing styles and giving you an original performance every time you play.
Korg's New Speaker System for Improved Sound
The enhanced speaker system generates sounds that you wouldn't expect from the SP-170. Surprisingly for its compact size, the two oval speakers deliver spacious, quality sounds. The resonance and tone is further improved by the design of the piano itself.
SP-170DX Reverb and Chorus Effects
Experiment with the sound dimensions on the SP-170DX by adjusting the Reverb for spaciousness of sounds, and the Chorus effect to add motion and warmth.
Full Pedal Section
The traditional piano experience of the SP-170DX is added to by the addition of three pedals to its sleek, minimalist stand. The soft, sostenuto and dampener pedals allow you to use proper pedaling techniques, an indispensable part of any expressive performance. The soft and dampener pedals can even provide half-pedaling techniques unlike other digital pianos which are limited to simple on/off pedals.
Dual Headphone Outputs
To headphone jacks are provided on the Korg SP-170DX, a useful feature if you're taking lessons and wish them to be private, or if you're playing duets. Perhaps your playing environment is quiet, the headphone feature lets you listen to the piano's great sound without disturbing others. The same outputs can also be used to connect with a digital recorder so you can keep copies of your performances for future reference.
