Part of the Premier range of Golden Age, the EQ-73 Premier exudes class and quality everywhere you look. Designed to authentically recreate vintage hardware EQs, the EQ-73 Premier is constructed using modern technology for reliable and stunning audio clarity whilst retaining all of the character and flavour of vintage components. Utilising no integrated circuits, the EQ-73's signal path remains crystal clear, with point-to-point wiring for tremendous signal integrity. Continuing the aim of providing a truly premier experience, the EQ-73 Premier makes use of two UK-made Carnhill inductors for the mid-range with Tantalum and polystyrene capacitors throughout as well as a Burr-Brown OPA 2602 output stage.

Free from any unwanted interference or noise, the Golden Age Premier EQ-73 uses high-quality soldered connections between each component, eliminating cross-talk and unwanted inter-module distortion. Additionally, an external power supply helps to reduce noise from external modules and circuits within your signal path. Meticulous control over your frequencies

Designed to give you full control over the entire frequency range, the EQ-73's three-band EQ ranges from 20Hz to 24kHz. No matter what instrument you are running through from bellowing bass and piano to articulate violins or vocals, you can perfectly sculpt and shape your tone. The three-band design offers dedicated control over each aspect of the frequency range with a dedicated bypass control for each range. Stepped frequency controls per band allow you to make quick decisions on your tonal shaping, getting the results you need for your production quickly.

The low and high frequency ranges both boast +/-15dB of gain with a shelf curve, allowing for more subtle and natural boosts and cuts in your sound design whilst the mid-range offer even more up to +/-18dB in a curve shape for more aggressive and present adjustments. Focusing on the lows, the EQ-73 Premier ranges from 20 - 300Hz, allowing you to dial in punch, weight and body to thin sounding drum shells, adding energy and excitement to your tracks. Conversely, you can remove any excess and unwanted low-end from vocals, electric guitars or piano to sit within dense mixes more easily. A wide-spanning midrange control from 160Hz - 10kHz with an enhanced +/-18dB of gain lets you focus on the important details, boosting the stick attack of a drum shell, pick attack of your acoustic guitar or adding bite to a driving rock vocalist. Within the high frequencies, the EQ-73 expands beyond the capability of human hearing up to 24kHz. This subtle additional frequency range pairs with the shelf curve of the band, allowing for more natural rises in the upper information in your signal, ideal for vocals or for adding brightness to dull instruments.

The three-band design features a dual inductor-based mid-frequency band, creating a classic style sound with an LC-style EQ circuit. The first inductor features several taps to a variety of curve shapes, for different mid frequencies spanning from 350Hz – 10kHz. The second inductor has a higher value, using the two lowest mid frequencies between 160 Hz and 240 Hz. Combining vintage values with modern technology creates a unique tone that results in the same full-bodied, musical tonal character that vintage EQs possessed.
