Dangerous Music SOURCE is studio-quality on-the-move. Just because you're not in your studio, doesn't mean you need to sacrifice sound. SOURCE is compact and can fit into a laptop bag, making it perfect for the moving producer, engineer, DJ or video editor. This allows you to have transparency and studio-quality sound anywhere you are. SOURCE lets you hear all the tiny nuances in your audio, so you can mix perfectly. Two onboard reference-grade A/D converters capture every last bit of detail of your music for accurate monitoring, allowing you to hear everything. Additionally, the SOURCE can also be rack mounted for permanent solutions (rackmount kit sold separately).
The SOURCE offers a range of connectivity options that provides flexibility for your monitoring. The SOURCE features two analogue and two digital inputs. SOURCE is equipped with a balanced stereo professional level analogue input on XLR/TRS jacks and an 1/8'' stereo commercial level input that is ideal for referencing from smartphones, tablets, iPods and laptops. The USB input allows you to connect your Mac or Windows laptop. The USB also features a built-in converter, with 24-bit/192kHz conversion for superb sound. The AES/SPDIF digital thru lets you monitor an external A/D converter while simultaneously sending to a recorder, or you can plug into an outboard digital metre, or even run into another SOURCE for expanded monitoring options. SOURCE features two different sections, providing one for monitors and the other for headphones. This gives you, the engineer, a place for controlling your monitors, and the headphones section for a singer or artist. With four speaker outputs on the back, the SOURCE lets you reference on different monitors separately or together. All these analogue, digital and USB input sources are separately selectable for ultimate flexibility. Additionally, there's a third stereo output for sending to front of house if needed. You can select any of the four inputs individually or at the same time and listen to any combination of sources from either section. This is ideal for letting the singer hear their own personal headphone mix, whilst you engineer the real mix.
The SOURCE is useful for many applications such as jamming over a CD, listening to different sources, setting up your own talkback system, of even putting a dialogue track on and off without needing to use your mouse. With the SOURCE you can switch between 'toggle' and 'latch' mode for added flexibility. For example, with latch mode you can leave your inserts on whilst you play along, as you don't need to hold down the button. Toggle mode is useful for mixing, allowing you to quickly flip between your reference track and mix, or check between a track without compression and with it. Toggle mode means the button stays on when your press and turns off when you press it again.
