The Universal Audio Bock 187 FET Condenser Microphone bases its design around one of the most iconic microphones ever created, regarded for its unique tonal character and sonic clarity. This u87-style microphone utilises minimalist Class-A FET circuitry coupled with a large Cinemag output transformer to deliver a powerful low-end response with huge headroom. Whilst primarily designed to replicate the classic mic design, the 187 has been enhanced sonically by microphone designer David Bock for superior acoustic performance.


Perfect for capturing both instrument and vocal recordings, the Bock 187 features a unique 'Fat' mode which provides an added boost between 10 and 400 Hz. This can be used to achieve a range of tonal changes, resulting in a more pronounced sound with a full-bodied dynamic range. In addition to Fat mode; the Bock 187 also features a switchable pad and low-cut filter for added flexibility.


Matching its vintage-inspired design, the Bock 187 features a retro-style colourway and comes hand-built from Universal Audio's custom shop in California.
