Unlike other piccolos at this price, the Intermediate piccolo features an African Blackwood (otherwise known as grenadilla) body and headjoint. The wood has been treated with a clear varnish to prevent damage to the instrument. The benefit from this wood body is the unprecedented tone, which is favoured by all professional musicians and has been the chosen professional choice of wood for decades.

Often manufacturers of cheaper piccolos will use cheap pads which can lead to playing issues in the future. This is why we have used quality Pisoni pads on the Rosedale Intermediate piccolo. Known in the woodwind world as some of the best pads you can get, these Italian pads will not let you down. Thanks to their high-quality construction, these pads will form a tight seal around the tone holes. What does this mean for you?
