The YAS62S's 62-style neck uses a slightly narrower bore to give you a faster response and greater control. Its design also encourages a comfortable flow of air, helping you establish a solid tonal core without making the instrument feel restrictive. The professional-style neck receiver creates a closer connection between the neck and body, supporting a richer tone. And if you want to adjust the saxophone's response further, the receiver is compatible with Yamaha Custom Z and Custom EX necks, giving you more flexibility to tailor the instrument around your playing preferences.

Enjoy a brighter, lighter playing feel

Yamaha uses a traditional body shape for the YAS62S, giving the instrument a brighter sound alongside a lighter playing feel. Integrated key posts introduce moderate resistance, helping the saxophone respond directly to the way you blow. Two-point contact further supports projection while retaining a free-blowing response, while bell rings help the instrument vibrate as you play. The two-piece brass bell is formed from two joined sheets of brass, bringing together Yamaha's construction methods with a design intended to support the instrument's response and projection.
