Our team here at Gear4music is full of vibrant, friendly individuals who are passionate about music. We’re also diverse, bringing together industry professionals from around the globe. With language expertise spanning Spanish, Italian, French, Danish, Dutch, German, Norwegian, Swedish, Polish, and Czech, we foster a truly international and inclusive culture.
Everyone here has a voice, and we actively encourage new ideas. Our open and welcoming work environment empowers people to explore their potential, embrace and tackle challenges, and grow both personally and professionally.
Based in the historic city of York, Gear4music has an extraordinary story. Founded in 1995 by our Executive Chair, Andrew Wass - a former sound recording engineer - we’ve grown from a niche supplier of digital recording solutions to an award-winning, AIM-listed online retailer of musical instruments and equipment. Since launching our website in 2003, we’ve expanded our headquarters and established international distribution centres, positioning ourselves for long-term success in a fast-paced, global market.
It’s an exciting time to join us. As we continue to grow and evolve, we’re welcoming new brands into the Gear4music Group and broadening our product range with innovative, forward-thinking designs that meet the needs of today’s musicians and creators.
One of our most exciting recent developments is our Gear4music Life range – a collection that showcases our commitment to sustainability and well-considered design. Each product in the Life range features eco-conscious packaging and excellent craftsmanship. Plus, for every item sold, we plant a tree, contributing to a greener, more sustainable future.

Giving Back: Our Charitable Partnerships
We’re always keen to create meaningful change, and one way we do this is by supporting the communities and causes close to our hearts.
Through long-standing charitable partnerships, we proudly support organisations doing incredible work, including Music For All, Changing Lives, Jessie’s Fund, Girls Rock London, Music Venue Trust, and The Bank of Dreams & Nightmares.
Each of these charities helps make the world a better, more inclusive place, whether it’s by empowering young people, supporting vulnerable individuals, or bringing the transformative power of music to those who need it most.
We’re proud to recruit talented and passionate people across areas such as marketing, software development, buying, logistics, customer service and more. We also offer a wide range of flexible roles in our busy distribution centres – ideal for people who are passionate about music and looking to take the next step in their career.
All of our locations have been carefully selected and positioned to provide our customers across the UK and Europe with the best possible delivery experience. Our head office and primary logistics centre is based in York, UK, with additional distribution centres in Ireland, Germany, Spain and Sweden.
