This combination gives you a solid starting point before the pickups and preamp come into play, whether you're shaping a focused active sound or keeping things more traditional in passive mode. The natural satin finish also lets the distinctive character of the woods form a key part of the bass's appearance. The Marcus Super-J Revolution pickup set is designed around '60s J Bass pickup spacing and uses USA plain enamel coils. This combination provides a clear, higher-resolution sound, helping you hear definition across the V10's extended five-string range. A blender control lets you adjust the balance between the pickups, so you can quickly tailor their contribution to your sound. Combined with the bass's resonant body construction, the pickup set gives you a detailed signal that can then be shaped through the onboard Heritage-3 electronics.
Marcus Miller Heritage-3 electronics give you plenty of control directly from the bass. The three-band EQ covers treble, middle, and bass, while dedicated middle frequency adjustment lets you choose exactly where that midrange control takes effect. Alongside volume, tone, and pickup blending, this gives you a practical set of controls for adapting your sound. You can also switch between active and classic passive operation, making it easy to choose between detailed onboard EQ shaping and a more straightforward passive response depending on what your playing calls for.
A hard maple C-shaped neck provides a familiar playing profile, paired with a 34-inch scale and 9.5-inch fingerboard radius. Rolled fretboard edges soften the transition around the sides of the hard maple fingerboard, helping the neck sit comfortably in your hand as you move between its 20 medium frets. A 46mm bone nut accommodates the five-string layout, while a five-bolt steel plate provides the neck joint.
