Its mahogany body and solid ash top balance a full-bodied sound with a design focused on reducing playing fatigue. For shaping your sound, the Marcus Super-J Revolution pickup set works alongside the active Marcus Heritage-3 preamp, with treble, middle, and bass controls plus a blender. You can also pull the bass control to switch into passive mode, handy when you want a more straightforward setup. A C-shaped hard maple neck, rolled fingerboard edges, and premium lightweight open-gear tuners help keep the V6 comfortable and practical, while DR Dragon Skin+ strings complete the setup.

The V6 is designed around a lightweight body, helping reduce fatigue when you’re playing for extended periods. That makes it particularly useful for longer rehearsals, performances, and practice sessions where a heavy instrument can become tiring. Its familiar Marcus Miller jazz body shape is crafted from mahogany with a solid ash top, combining this comfort-focused construction with a full-bodied sound. Premium lightweight open-gear tuners also support the weight-conscious design. And with five strings at your disposal, you have an extended range while retaining the familiar 34-inch scale.
A sandblasted finish highlights the natural grain of the solid ash top, adding texture and definition to the V6’s Ocean Turquoise Blue appearance. Rather than hiding the character of the timber, this finishing method makes its grain an important part of the bass’s look. Underneath, the mahogany body and ash top are designed to contribute to the instrument’s carefully tuned sound as well as its distinctive exterior. There’s no pickguard covering the top either, so the sandblasted wood remains clearly visible across the classic J-style body shape.
A Marcus Super-J Revolution pickup set gives the V6 its J-style foundation, while the Marcus Heritage-3 active preamp provides plenty of control over your sound. Treble, middle, and bass controls let you adjust the instrument’s tonal balance for different playing styles, with the blender allowing you to choose the balance between the pickups. The bass control also features a push/pull function for switching to passive mode. This gives you a practical choice between active tone shaping and a simpler passive setup, helping you move between classic and contemporary bass sounds.
The hard maple neck uses a C-shaped profile for an approachable playing feel, paired with a hard maple fingerboard on the Ocean Turquoise Blue model. Rolled fingerboard edges create a smoother transition at the sides of the neck, helping your fretting hand move comfortably across all 20 medium frets. A 9.5-inch fingerboard radius keeps the playing surface familiar, while the 46mm bone nut accommodates the five-string layout.
