NEW - 'Sound Edit' view, new sounds and more with firmware 2.0 update
Arturia’s AstroLab 2.0 update brings a range of useful new features designed to give musicians greater control over their sounds while performing and creating. The new Sound Edit view puts important instrument parameters such as envelopes, filters and glide directly onto the front panel, with dedicated parameter pages controlled using the four macro knobs.
This makes it easier to quickly tweak a sound or dive deeper into sound design without interrupting your workflow. The update also introduces more than 60 new sounds, including Pure Grand Clean, a detailed acoustic grand piano sampled across eight velocity layers, alongside new funk and orchestral brass, pop strings, upright bass and electric bass sounds.
Performance has also been refined, with improvements to sampler polyphony, Analog Lab linking and updating, as well as better aftertouch response. Transposition is now clearly displayed using the Octave LEDs, while a redesigned preset list makes finding and accessing the best sounds quicker and easier. Overall, AstroLab 2.0 offers a broader stage-ready sound palette alongside a smoother and more flexible hands-on playing experience.
10 powerful sound engines with 1300 presets
Arturia Astrolab stands out with its ability to blend seamlessly into both live performances and studio environments. Its over 1300 presets and 10 built-in sound engines cover an expansive sonic range, ensuring musicians can easily find and integrate the perfect sound into their setup.
This extensive library, coupled with the ability to incorporate personal sounds and expand it through the Sound Store and companion software, makes Astrolab a central hub for creative exploration. The device's minimalist design does not just appeal aesthetically; it simplifies workflow, making on-the-fly adjustments feel intuitive and effortless.
Built for the stage and the studio
Designed with the live musician in mind, Astrolab's robust construction and thoughtful features ensure reliability across performances. From studio to stage, it offers unmatched sound quality and playability, embodying a commitment to unhindered musical expression. The synthesizer's quick sound selection, customisable FX knobs, and 4 multi-purpose macros are engineered to keep the artist in a creative flow, minimizing distractions and maximizing performance impact.
Semi-weighted keybed and crisp, circular display
Equipped with a 61-note semi-weighted keybed, the Astrolab offers fluid playability, providing a rich and natural feel when pressing the keys that will take your performance to the next level. You can also modulate your sound using the pitch and modulation wheels. A selection of rotary knobs allows you to quickly dial in certain parameters such as delay, reverb, movement and much more. You can also quickly switch between 'Arp' and 'Chord' modes with dedicated buttons.
One of the most prominent design aspects of the Astrolab is the unique circular display unit which provides visual feedback for all your sounds and settings. Accompanied by a navigation wheel, scrolling through your sounds and functions will become second nature, allowing you to quickly switch between parameters, presets and other settings with ease.
Innovative play modes driving inspiration
Astrolab introduces innovative play modes that inspire creativity and ensure musicians always stay in key. These features, along with the synthesizer's customisable effects and macros, offer artists the tools to craft unique sounds and performances. Whether you're layering textures in the studio or leading a live performance, Astrolab's intuitive controls and play modes empower you to experiment with confidence, pushing the boundaries of musical exploration.
Mobile and software synergy
The inclusion of a mobile app and professional software like Analog Lab Pro extends Astrolab's functionality beyond the hardware. Customize and organize sounds with ease from your mobile device, exploring new sonic territories without being tethered to your DAW or computer. Analog Lab Pro further enriches this experience, allowing for detailed sound fine-tuning and curation, ensuring that Astrolab not only fits into your creative process but enhances it, offering a comprehensive platform for sonic innovation.
