Yamaha YDP 105 Digital Sampling

Superb sampling

The YDP-105 uses Yamaha's AWM stereo sampling technology. This sampling technology uses real digitally sampled pianos to get the basis for the sound, then high-quality filter technology is applied to provide depth and realism that can react to the most subtle nuances of your playing. The piano can also simulate the resonances in the piano, such as those emitted from the keybed or the tonal changes when the damper pedal is depressed. All these can be blended together to create a natural-sounding resonance.

Authentic key touch

The Graded Hammer Standard (GHS) keybed provides a touch that closely simulates an actual piano. The perceived weight of the keys is greater in the lower range than in the higher range, mimicking the real-life differences between the bass and treble hammers in a piano. The level of control, the weighting and feel of the action is excellent, repetitive notes feel natural and authentic, and the expressivity that can be achieved is unmatched.

Damper resonance

There are three keys built into the stand of this piano. With these, you can play pretty much any piano piece with pedalling. The damper pedal also supports half-damping, and the sound of the piano will accurately simulate the effect on the piano's sound. This resonance is also simulated throughout the piano, so you hear the most natural-sounding digital piano sounds possible.
