Powerful mixing in a compact rack
The StudioLive SE 16R packs 18 channels and 10 mix buses into a streamlined rackmount format that is easy to transport and install. Whether you are building a touring rig, upgrading a venue system, or tightening up your studio space, it gives you large-format control without taking over your rack.
Six FlexMixes can be set as AUX sends for monitors, subgroups for grouped processing, or matrix mixes for complex routing. Two dedicated FX mixes with stereo returns keep time-based effects separate, so your core buses stay free for the essentials.
Studio-grade processing on every channel
Equipped with 16 fully recallable XMAX-R mic preamps, the SE 16R captures sources with clarity and consistent headroom. Powered by the FLEX DSP Engine, every input and bus includes nine State Space modelled EQ options and ten vintage-inspired compressor models. This means you can tailor dynamics and tone per channel rather than relying on limited shared processing.
The 16R Rack Mixer is especially useful in live settings where different vocalists, instruments, and playback sources all need individual attention. Save and recall settings with ease, keeping your mixes consistent from soundcheck to showtime.
Integrated recording and hybrid workflow
If you record shows or produce content, the built-in 18x18 USB 2.0 audio interface makes multitrack capture straightforward. The connection is continuously bidirectional, so you can record to your computer and play back stems for Virtual Soundcheck without reconfiguring your setup.
Onboard stereo SD card recording gives you a simple backup or quick reference mix when needed. Each channel can switch between analog, USB, SD, or AVB sources, helping you move between live inputs and playback channels without complicated rerouting. Capture software is included, along with a perpetual licence for Fender Studio Pro, giving you a complete recording solution straight away.
Flexible networking and remote control
Milan-certified AVB networking allows the SE 16R to operate as a standalone mixer, a monitor mixer, or a stagebox for StudioLive Series III consoles. Integration is straightforward, making it easy to expand an existing system or build a scalable networked setup. If your installation requires Dante, optional AVB-D16 support provides that connection.
For day-to-day control, Universal Control software offers full wireless mixing from your computer or tablet, and Offline Editor support lets you prepare scenes in advance. Performers can even adjust their own monitor mixes using QMix-UC on iOS or Android, keeping rehearsals and shows running smoothly.
