Build rich sounds with three oscillators
Pentaphonic gives you three flexible oscillators for shaping layered leads, pads, strings, and more. Each oscillator provides independent waveform, level, tuning, and modulation controls, giving you plenty of scope to adjust the harmonic character of your patch. Pulse-width modulation and oscillator sync extend the original architecture with further tonal options, while a noise generator adds another useful sound source. Two LFOs can then bring movement to the oscillators, filter, and amplifier, with eight waveform choices available on each. This combination makes it easy to create anything from steady vintage-style tones to evolving, animated textures.
Shape every note with flexible filtering
Switch between 2-pole and 4-pole low-pass filter modes to choose how strongly Pentaphonic shapes your sound. Resonance, keyboard tracking, envelope control, and velocity response give you detailed control over how the filter behaves across different notes and playing dynamics. Separate ADSR envelopes for the filter and amplifier let you adjust tonal movement independently from volume, whether you need a quick attack, a gradual swell, or a long release. The amplifier also includes a limiter for additional level control. Combined with velocity, channel aftertouch, and polyphonic aftertouch, these tools make patches more responsive to the way you play.
Create patterns that move with your music
The advanced arpeggiator and 16x4 programmable polyphonic step sequencer give you two practical ways to build rhythmic and melodic movement. Both can sync and transpose, while humanisation controls help patterns feel less rigid. You can also use the Parameter Animator to control cutoff, resonance, oscillator pitch modulation, or oscillator gain, adding automated changes within your sounds. Choose monophonic, unison, or polyphonic operation with up to 16 voices — then adjust glide, pitch bend, note priority, tuning, and unison detuning to suit your performance. It’s a flexible setup for sequences, focused leads, and wide chordal parts.
Take vintage character into modern productions
Built-in chorus provides the stereo width and movement associated with the Pentaphonic's character, while a global chain of 22 modulatable effects gives you much more room for processing. More than 375 presets across 14 categories help you get started quickly, including recreations of all 50 original factory patches. Three interface themes reference the black, transparent, and Audities-style designs, complete with adjustable opacity. You can run Pentaphonic standalone or inside a compatible DAW, with MIDI control, automation, MIDI Learn, adjustable oversampling, interface zoom, and resizing helping it slot neatly into your setup.
