Mixing and Automation
Nuendo 15 expands its mixing workflow with detailed analysis, automation, and multichannel tools. The Analyzer Track uses Fraunhofer IDMT technology to measure dialogue intelligibility alongside loudness, displaying results as colour-coded blocks so you can quickly locate areas that need attention. Analysis can run in real time or offline between locators, while adjustable Dialogue Intelligibility Unit thresholds help you work towards broadcaster specifications.
Automation has also been expanded with parameter selection through plug-in controls, copy/paste functionality, individual track punch-out in Latch Mode, clearer automation states, and Write on Play with Preview indication. A compact, dockable Automation panel helps keep these controls accessible without taking over your workspace.
Convert Channels makes multichannel session preparation more straightforward by automatically splitting or merging files according to your chosen track layout. This lets you break surround material into organised stems or combine mono files into stereo pairs while reducing manual routing and clip placement. Updated Headphones Match compensation curves add support for further models from Audeze, Audio-Technica, Beyerdynamic, Fiio, Sennheiser, Shure, and others. MacOS full-screen support provides more editing space, while updated AI-powered Stem Separation can isolate material for rebalancing, vocal extraction, or creative reworking.
Video and Productivity
Video workflows gain more control over both incoming media and finished exports. Nuendo 15 supports direct MXF video and audio import from OP1a containers, including AVC Intra 50/100/200 and MPEG-2 codecs. This reduces conversion steps when exchanging material within established broadcast and post-production pipelines.
Video export now provides selectable resolution and encoding presets, with software or GPU encoding available. You can also burn text from the active marker track directly into exported video, including timecode, dialogue, and ADR attributes configured through the ADR settings. For session organisation, folder tracks can be assigned their own group channels, automatically routing contained tracks to the corresponding bus. MediaBay Hot Swap also makes replacing Sampler Track material quicker, backed by improved filtering for faster auditioning and sound selection.
Further improvements
Nuendo 15 includes more than 25 additional workflow improvements aimed at making regular post-production tasks more efficient. These updates cover project organisation and session management, helping reduce the small interruptions that can add up during larger film, television, broadcast, and game-audio projects.
ADR workflows also receive a redesigned panel. The Marker Editor's value fields have been reorganised into a clearer structure, making relevant information easier to navigate while working with dialogue and cue data. Together with the expanded video export, automation, routing, and channel-conversion tools, these refinements help keep complex projects organised and let you spend more time on the mix itself.
Sound Design and Plugins
Nuendo 15 adds new modulation and processing options for building, reshaping, and correcting audio. Six additional modulators include Random Generator, Sample & Hold, and Wavefold LFO, giving you more ways to introduce movement, variation, and evolving behaviour into sound-design patches.
Real-time pitch shifting provides a ±24-semitone range alongside formant preservation, saturation modes, and stereo unlinking. That gives you flexible control for creative transformations as well as corrective dialogue and effects processing. The new Ultra Shaper combines compression with transient shaping, clip limiting, and EQ sculpting, bringing several dynamics tools into one processor. It can handle precise refinement or more pronounced processing when creating effects for music, film, television, and game projects.
